Someone asked me for 15,000 naira to process a scholarship. Is this normal?

I saw a post on another site about a scholarship to study abroad. They replied quickly and asked me to pay a processing fee to secure my slot before Friday. They have a letterhead and a phone number. Something feels wrong but I do not know enough to say why.

A letterhead costs nothing to make. A phone number costs nothing. Neither is evidence of anything.

It is a scam. Stop talking to them. No real scholarship charges you to apply. None. Not for processing, not for a slot, not for a visa deposit, not for a courier. The deadline pressure is part of it: they want you to pay before you ask anyone.

Adding one way to check for yourself. Find the scholarship on the official website of the university or funder, without using any link they sent you. If it does not exist there, it does not exist.
