Has anyone published from a masters dissertation? How did you start?
My supervisor says my dissertation is publishable but has no time to help. I have never submitted to a journal and the process looks like it was designed to be confusing.

Beware of journals that email you asking for submissions and then ask for a publication fee. Some are legitimate open access, many are not. Check whether they are in DOAJ before you pay anything.

Pick the journal before you rewrite anything. Their word limit and structure decide what you cut. Writing first and choosing later means doing it twice.

And read three recent papers from that journal. You are matching a house style as much as a topic.
