We meet on Saturdays in a borrowed church hall. Forty children, ages seven to twelve, most of them a year or two behind where they should be in reading. We have volunteers and we have the hall. What we do not have is books at the right...

Is it worth doing a masters if I want to stay teaching?

It costs two years of savings. I am not sure it changes anything about my classroom.

The reading club got books. Thank you to whoever reads this.

Someone here sent me a grant link in March. We applied, we got 1,200 dollars, and we bought 180 levelled readers from a publisher in Nairobi rather than shipping them from abroad. Attendance is up from forty to fifty-three.
